Getting back into dev work

October 19th, 2006

So, for my Group Software Design course we have to design a calendar. And it’s open to anything we want to use. Since I’m a C++ fan, I conned my group into using C++. Since here in the CS department, we are taught GUI for C++ in QT, it was easy to press them into that. And at the point, it was easy to convince them we want to do a real KDE app. So I’m getting my QT practice so that I can do some useful development for KDE. I have a SVN account. So I cannot wait for the semester to end so that I can use it!

Geekiness, here I come! As it is, if you have KDE installed, you have my name on your computer. Take that! Now you’ll have to use my code too! Mwa-hahaha!!

Bears

October 19th, 2006

I changed my mind. I’m just going to clean up the categories, and stick with this. It makes it harder if you only want to read one of them, but easier if you want to read everything. So deal.

So this is my introduction to why you don’t want to live here.

It snowed a week ago. Full blown blizzard. Totally crushing my plans for a color tour. Oh well. Best sight? I saw a tulip covered in snow. If I had my camera with me, I’d be posting it now. Sorry about that. I’ll have more weather stories. I promise. And I shouldn’t have to scrape off my car on the 12th of October.

About a month and a half ago one of the people who live near me lost their grill. Why, you ask? Because a bear came wanering through and decided it smelled good. So it destroyed the grill. I never leave mine out, I cannot afford a new one. So, I have crazy winters and bears. Some wolves too, but they stay in the woods. About 200 yards(plus or minus meters) from my house. If I’m taking my dog out at night, I get worried. So if she gets scared, I bolt back to the apartment.
